  • a request to fax a copy of your pathology or x--ray request tbecause you have forgotten to take  it with you

Appointments

We operate on an appointment only basis- unless an emergency occurs.

Appointments are available on a daily basis with a limited number of appointments available under a pre- book option.

We encourage patients with booking later in the morning or afternoon to call to see how the doctor is running prior to leaving home or work.

See Fee's for more details.

Phone calls

If you wish to discuss a matter by phone with the doctor, the staff will either refer  your call to the doctors voice mail or will record a brief message to be forwarded to the doctor. The doctor will prioritise these messages and return your call as soon as possible. In many cases this will be at the end of the evening consulting session, in order to avoid delaying patients attending for consultation. It is rarely possible to meet a request for a call to be returned at a precise time.  If you have particular reasons, please advise the receptionist.

Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions, without a consultation are available at the doctor's discretion. A charge of  $25.00 will be made for this service. No Medicare rebate is available for this service. Persons other that the patient who collect  a prescription  will be asked to sign a register certifying that you are authorised by the patient to collect the prescription. Prescriptions can be mailed to you, or faxed/mailed to your pharmacist.

Home Visits

Home visits are available to regular practice patients who are in genuine need and are too ill to attend the surgery. If you require a home visit, we ask that you call the surgery early to allow for scheduling to occur. If the doctors are unable to meet an on the day requests for home visits then a locum can be arranged for you later in the day.

Specialist referrals

A referral is needed for you to get a Medicare refund for the fees charged by a specialist. The Health Insurance Commission specifies that a consultation fee can be charged for the purposes of a referral to a specialist. This involves an assessment of your condition and a decision that the services of a specialist are required to deal with your problem. It is a requirement under Medicare that referrals are issued in advance of your consultation with a specialist, except in emergencies. For these reasons, our policy is that referrals are not available without consultation, and will not be backdated. Repeat referrals for continuing care may be written at the doctor's discretion: a fee of $25.00 applies for this service Payment will be required at time of collection (no Medicare rebate available for this service). Persons other that the patient who collect referrals, will be asked to sign a register certifying that you are authorised by the patient to collect the referral on their behalf.
